Job Description

  • Manage Research & Development Office’s administrative activities as AIC’s compliance office for PDPA and HBRA.
  • Develop and regularly update policy documents and SOPs for RDO and AIC processes.  These processes include, but are not limited to, PDPA, HBRA, and ILTC grant making.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of the abovementioned policies and SOPs for staff as well as grantees.
  • Manage the administration of ILTC grant calls.
  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of ILTC grant applications, proposals, and awards to ensure adherence to ILTC grant management policies.
  • Monitor the financial management of ILTC grant funds to ensure consistency with agreed technical plan and actual implementation, and monitor the projected expenditures against their actual incurrence.
  • Monitor technical implementation of ILTC grants to ensure timely progress and according to submitted technical reports, proposed strategy and work plans.
  • Manage the organization of the research training program for members of ILTC sector in anticipation of ILTC grant calls.
  • Coordinate training offerings with institutes of higher learning.
  • Assist in the management of financial processes in the RDO and the budget.
  • Other relevant work that may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A good Bachelor’s degree with Honours is needed, preferably with higher level degree qualifications (Master’s or PhD) in relevant fields such as Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Public Health.
  • Experience with managing research grants would be an advantage. Administrative experience in budget or project management preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and in teams.
  • Flexible, self-motivating, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in a Microsoft Windows environment.
